We first approached Great British Kitchens & Interiors on the recommendation of a friend when we were planning the comprehensive refurbishment of our house, which included the creation of a new kitchen area. We met Vince Hone at his showroom and he spent considerable time with us demonstrating the range of units and appliances available. He then visited our property and provided us with a suggested layout for the new kitchen area together with an indication of costs.

We had our kitchen designed and installed earlier this year by Great British Kitchens & Interiors and we can honestly say it was both a pleasant and hugely successful experience. During the design phase, Stephen was the only designer we approached who really thought outside the box, to present us with some very different potential layouts. This had the advantage of provoking a lot more thought from us about the actual flow of the kitchen and what would work best for us. From there, he and Vince worked with us to decide on and hone the final design, finishes and bespoke cabinet layouts (with not a hint of impatience, despite our ever-changing minds!).

We had used GBK to install a new kitchen in our old house 11 years ago so we knew that their work is of a high quality, they are easy to do business with and they deliver to plan and budget. For this reason, we engaged Vince and Jack to build our new kitchen in our new house. Vince and Jack were very responsive to spec requirements, flexible and came up with some great ideas. They are both very professional and friendly so engender trust which is important when you are going to spend a lot of money. As before, we are delighted with our new kitchen and the service provided by GBK. There are invariably a few minor snagging issues after such a big job but Jack and Vince sorted these out very quickly, no problem. The workmen we had around were respectful, tidy and friendly so no problem with them being in your house at all. I would happily recommend GBK as they take care of everything making it as stress free for you the buyer as possible. The service they provide is excellent and the quality of the kitchen is great.

From initial visit to the showroom right to the end of installation all the team were highly professional, polite and caring. It was clearly important to them as well as us that we got the kitchen that was right for us. They truly respected the investment we were making and their experience was invaluable. The craftsmanship in the construction of the cupboards is impressive and worth every penny. The installation went without a hitch and the fact that you have dedicated person for the 2 weeks at every stage on site was fantastic. We are delighted with our kitchen but it is so much more than that it is a beautiful heart to our home which our family and friends are enjoying. It is exactly what we wanted and we don’t think this would have been achieved with any other company than Great British Kitchens.

Once we had placed the order with Vince he worked closely with our builder to ensure that everything was correctly coordinated in preparation for the kitchen installation. The installation itself was carried out to a very high standard with very close attention to detail. Once the kitchen was fully installed Vince’s son, Jack (a qualified chef), invited us to a cooking demonstration to familiarise us with the appliances that we had purchased. This was particularly helpful and the resulting meal that we were served matched the excellence of the service that we have received throughout.

Having satisfied ourselves that Vince was the best person to guide us through the design process due to his extensive knowledge of the kitchen industry we then worked closely together to refine the layout and select the most appropriate style of units. colour scheme and electrical appliances to suit our requirements. At the end of this exercise Vince provided us with a firm quotation, which he honoured to the end notwithstanding several minor variations along the way.

I have had 2 kitchens from Great British interiors the second one almost 12 years ago. I called them recently because a hinge had broken and also because I wanted a boiling water tap. Both fairly small jobs - they responded immediately and did a refurb of the kitchen rehanging all the doors and replacing hinges as well as slotting my new boiling water tap into an existing space. In my experience they are no more expensive than the big "designer" kitchen companies who in fact just give you a bog standard kitchen built of standard components whereas these kitchens are entirely custom made and as I can attest really stand the test of time and I am pretty sure that Poggenpohl aren't coming back after 12 years to rehang your doors...
